What is "fake believe"?

The Google results sum it up: pretty much all the (useful) results refer to the song, and it says at the top "Did you mean to search for: make-believe". One of the few non-song-related results casts it as a made-up phrase. Would it have been that much harder to write a song called "M is for make-believe"? :-)
