Further arithmetic

Well most of you were wrong — the answer was 28.9. Yes, it told me to refill when the tank was still not far short of half full.

Now. When I switch on the ignition it displays the number of miles to be covered before the next service according to the manufacturer's recommended service interval. When I got the car it was saying 8000 — that was when the car had done 63,600 miles in total.
