Power loss

I decided to gamble 40 pounds on the circuit board option. It took a week, but it finally arrived in bubblewrap, wrapped up in two cardboard sleeves and then placed in a box together with some of those air-filled packing bags and a packet containing four random sweets and a note saying "Thanks for shopping at www.charleshyde.co.uk".

And… sadly the machine is still dead, so it looks like I will have to start reading reviews. I lost the bet. (Speaking of which, I am currently still in this year's WRGPT with about an average stack, having scored just a couple of big wins, a couple of small wins, and no losses to speak of.)

But my YouGov cheque for £50 should be on its way — and it only took about 2.5 years to amass. Mind you, I don't know when it will get here as they say they "aim to send out cheques within a month".

In other news, I have just booked some tickets for TMBG at the Royal Festival Hall in June. Yay. It's for the afternoon family show, so smallclanger will be coming too (and will get to meet up with buzzy_babe for the first time in a couple of years).
