Why every child deserves a laptop

…is the title of an article that caught my eye earlier when it appeared on fedoranews2, only because I'm sure smallclanger would agree with the sentiment. He doesn't need special educational software though, apparently; the CBeebies web site is enough. Unfortunately, since "his" (i.e., my old 1997-vintage) laptop isn't equipped with either wireless networking or a semi-recent version of Flash, he seems to have co-opted my brand new one. Oh dear.

But this article is referring to the OLPC project which says it can manufacture a laptop for under $150 that doesn't require an external power source. It will apparently be available in a number of bright colours, including orange.
